Axe Us Anything!
If you don’t see the answer to your question, just give us a call at (608) 579-0683
- Where are you located?
FlannelJax's Madison is located at 6704 Watts Road, Madison, WI 53719. Just take the Beltline (US 14) and exit at Gammon Road, then turn onto Watts Road.
- Is there parking?
Absolutely. There is plenty of parking in both the front and back of the building.
- How can I get to FlannelJax's using public transportation?
Hop on the 50 Bus or the 73 Bus. Both stop at Gammon and Watts Road. We're just a short walk down Watts Road.
- Is FlannelJax's wheelchair accessible?
For sure. And our Lumberjacks can always assist you if needed.
- When are you open?
FlannelJax's is open Wednesdays from 11am to 10pm, Thursdays to Saturdays from 11am to 11pm and Sundays from 11am to 8pm.
- What should I wear Axe Throwing?
Something comfortable that allows for movement. The only requirement we have is you must wear closed toe shoes.
- Is Axe Throwing Safe?
Absolutely. At FlannelJax's Madison we take safety super seriously. Our trained Lumberjacks are on hand to make sure everyone is playing safe and having fun.
- How old do I need to be to go Axe Throwing?
We do have an age limit at FlannelJax’s. We don’t want your youngsters getting hurt, so participants are required to be 18 years and older. Participants aged 13-17 are eligible to go axe throwing if accompanied by an adult.
- How many people do I need for Axe Throwing?
FlannelJax's Axe Throwing games work best with at least 4 people, but we can accommodate as few as 2 or over 100 people.
- Do I have to throw axes with other people?
It all depends on how many people you have in your group. Smaller groups may be combined with others during our busiest times, while groups of 6 or more will always have a private lane when they pre-book.
- What is the difference between a private group and walk-in session?
A private group needs 6 or more people which will get you your own lane and our trained Lumberjacks will teach you the games, you need to keep your scores though. Walk-in sessions are better for smaller groups and -- depending on availability -- you may be combined with other groups.
- Can I come and just watch?
Of course! If you aren't interested in throwing you can just watch the Axe Throwing. You will still have to sign the waiver though, just in case you get that itch to take part.
- What type of Axe Throwing games can we play?
FlannelJax's Madison has about 30 different Axe Throwing games to try. We usually start off with some easier ones, then get more advanced as your group gets better at Axe Throwing.
- Can I bring my own axe?
Sorry - but everyone must use the axes we provide to make sure the playing field is level (and for a bunch of boring legal reasons).
- What kind of axe do you use for Axe Throwing?
At FlannelJax's we use 2 1/2 pound camp hatchets.
- Is there music playing during our Axe Throwing session?
That would be lame if there wasn't! We always have some great music playing - if you can hear it over your laughter.
- Is there heating / air conditioning?
Yes - we keep our Lumber Camp at a comfortable temperature all year long.
- Do you serve alcohol?
Yes, we offer a variety of canned beer and wine, which you can purchase while your group is enjoying your Axe Throwing experience. No outside alcohol is allowed.
- How do I cancel my booking?
Just give us a call and we can do that for you. Depending on how much notice you give, you may lose your deposit.
