- What should I wear when Axe Throwing?
When you come to FlannelJax’s for Axe Throwing, wear something comfortable that allows for plenty of movement. You will be throwing axes after all! Closed toe shoes are an absolute requirement.
- What do I need to bring to Axe Throwing?
All you need to bring is your partner, friends, boss, girlfriend, boyfriend or coworkers, people off the street, whoever you can corral for one of the most exhilarating experiences you will ever have. We’ll provide the Lumberjacks and Lumberjills to make sure you have a great time.
- Can I bring food and drinks?
Sure, bring food or order-in, we don’t mind. We have a list of local vendors that make amazing food and will deliver right to our door for you. We also offer a variety of snacks if you’re not looking for a full meal. We are now able to serve alcohol and offer a variety of canned beer and wine.
- Is alcohol allowed?
Some FlannelJax's locations do offer a variety of canned beer and wine which you can purchase while your group is enjoying your Axe Throwing experience. No outside alcohol is allowed. Unfortunately, the Grand Rapids location currently does not serve alcohol.
- How much is Axe Throwing?
When you book an Axe Throwing session in advance you’ll get to fling axes for 2 hours for only $40 per person. You’ll also have one of our awesome Lumberjacks or Lumberjills to coach you through our exhilarating, social, fun games. If you want to take your chances that space will be available you can choose to walk-in for $25.00 per hour for each person, subject to availability. Groups with over 25 people can call a location near you to work with our Event Specialist to customize a FlannelJax’s experience for your event.
- Do I need to book Axe Throwing in advance?
We recommend it. When you book an axe throwing session in advance you get 2 hours of axe throwing time for only $40 per person. This includes a dedicated Lumberjack or Lumberjill to coach you and teach you a variety of fun, competitive games.
If you like to live life on the edge you can stop by during our walk-in hours and throw for $25 per person per hour. All walk-ins are served on a first-come, first-serve basis and subject to lane availability. Depending on how busy we are, you may be grouped with other walk-in customers. So, if you want to guarantee a private lane, we recommend booking axe throwing ahead of time. Final walk-in session starts 1 hour before close. Our Hours of Operation are:
- Monday – Thursday: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- Friday – Saturday: 12:00pm – 12:00am
- Sunday: 12:00pm – 10:00pm
- Do you host birthday parties?
Sure, we host birthday parties, but Axe Throwing at FlannelJax’s is also great for other parties. If it’s a divorce party or a bachelor/bachelorette, the divorcee (yes, you actually have to show your divorce certificate within 30 days), or the soon to be married couple get to throw for free; again with a minimum of 6 people. Pretty much any party or team event is a great time at FlannelJax’s.
- How long does Axe Throwing take?
At FlannelJax’s, our walk-in sessions start at 1 hour but can be extended depending on availability. But booked sessions are 2 hours!
- How many people can I bring Axe Throwing?
Axe Throwing and our other competitive games work best with a minimum group size of 4. But we can accommodate as few as 2 people or over 100 depending on your event!
- How old do I need to be to go Axe Throwing?
We do have an age limit at FlannelJax’s. We don’t want your youngsters getting hurt, so participants are required to be 18 years and older.
- Is FlannelJax's wheelchair accessible?
Definitely! Our games are also wheelchair accessible, as long as you have the upper-body strength to throw an axe.
- How do I throw an Axe?
Don’t worry if you’ve never thrown an Axe before – there’s no experience necessary. Each group will have a dedicated Lumberjack or Lumberjill for the entire session to teach you the basics, coach you and makes sure everyone is playing safe. The Lumberjack or Lumberjill will also keep track of scoring so you can focus on having fun.
- Is Axe Throwing dangerous?
We take safety very seriously and each group will have a dedicated Lumberjack or Lumberjill to make sure everyone is having fun but staying safe while axe throwing. Our games are exciting, but safe.
- What other games does FlannelJax's have?
Not only does FlannelJax's have a bunch of variations on Axe Throwing games, but we are more than just Axe Throwing. We also offer other fun Lumberjack Sports like Crosscut Sawing and Thump the Stump!
- Can I cancel my booking?
That's too bad, but bookings cancelled 7 days in advance will receive a full refund including deposit. If you have any concerns about cancelling, just give us a call and we can answer any questions you have.
